European Beer Bloggers Conference – Leeds 2012 « ThatchersBeerBlog // May 21, 2012 at 3:56 pm
[...] The European Beer Bloggers Conference, which took place in Leeds last weekend, was superbly organised & exceptionally informative. The event was put together by Zephyr Adventures, an American travel company, who run blogging conferences around the world in the Beer, Wine, Food & Fitness industries. Now in its second year, it wouldn’t have been possible without hefty support from many companies: brewing giants, microbreweries and other industry affiliated businesses. My particular thanks go to Pilsner Urquell, one of the major sponsors as they secured my ticket. Look out for the new Master Bartender website, I’ll be writing the blog for them, launching very soon. [...]

My brewery wants me to present a social media plan and that is why I am interested.
I just want to know that your social media content won’t be from European breweries who seem to lack the will or skills to create effective social media.
So far, it seems like 99% an American thing.
Who is on the Social Media panel?
Americans?
Europeans?
This is a make or break issue in whether I attend.
Hi Marcel,
The panel is actually “Breweries and Social Media”. It is specifically about how breweries are engaging in social media and will be representatives from European breweries. If you have other suggestions, please let us know!
Allan

The Brewery is a great location. This is the site of the Whitbread Brewery (now closed) and is home to the largest single span roof in London which is sits above the famous ‘Porter Tun’ room in the complex. The Porter Tun room was indeed home to the huge Tuns that were used to ferment the famous London Porter
